The Best of Istria, Croatia
Croatia is one of our favorite European countries to visit! We may be biased as Tibor is Croatian, but it is truly a beautiful country filled with diverse landscape, delicious food, and hospitable locals. For this trip we decided to stick to the Northwest region known as Istria. You can travel this region by car but we would recommend traveling by regional buses — super easy and affordable! The region of Istria is known for their black truffles and you can eat them with almost any dish. Travel from Pula and head up the coast stopping in Rabac, Opatija, or whatever speaks to you — just don’t forget to save some time for the islands of Cres an Krk. Grab some honey rakija and soak up the sun!
What to do:
Spend a 3 nights in Rabac! It’s a small coastal town filled with the most amazing beaches.
Visit the Pula Arena.
Restaurant hop around Pula and taste the flavours of Istria.
